Terms of service
What each of us is responsible for while you use the service — in plain language, up front.
1. Parties and scope
These terms govern the relationship between the individual or company using our services ("you") and the company providing them ("we"). By opening an account or buying a service you accept them.
They cover hosting, virtual servers, email, SSL certificates, domains and licences alike. Where a rule applies to one service only, it is stated in the relevant section.
2. Your account and its security
Keeping your account details accurate and current is your responsibility. If your billing details or contact address are wrong, your invoice cannot be issued and important notices will not reach you.
The confidentiality of your password and two-step verification details is yours to maintain. Actions taken from your account are treated as taken by you. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access; until you do, actions taken in the meantime remain your responsibility.
If you want to transfer the account, write to us first. No transfer happens without identity verification.
3. Payment and invoicing
The figure shown on the storefront includes tax and does not change at checkout. Payment is taken in the payment provider’s own secure form; your card details never reach our servers and are not stored by us.
Your invoice is issued electronically once payment is approved and sent to the email address on your account. Billing details cannot be changed after an order; correcting an invoice issued with wrong details requires a new document.
If a payment is reversed for any reason (a chargeback), the service may be suspended. We suggest raising the dispute with us first; most cases are resolved in writing.
4. Renewal and price changes
Services renew automatically at the end of each period unless you turn renewal off. You can turn it off from your customer panel at any time; the service then ends by itself at the close of the period you have paid for.
Renewals are charged at the catalogue price on the day. If a price increase is coming, we email you at least 30 days before the renewal. Nothing is charged before that notice.
If a renewal cannot be charged, the service is suspended for a period and then ends. Suspension and termination dates are sent by email, and you can download your data before it ends.
5. Refunds
Hosting, server, email, SSL and domain services are provisioned and made available to you immediately after payment is approved, and you confirm this explicitly at checkout. Because performance begins at that moment, the fee for a billing period that has started is not refunded.
We do refund duplicate payments, services we were unable to start, amounts charged in excess of the advertised price, and termination by us. The details are in the refund policy, which forms an integral part of these terms.
6. Acceptable use
You may not use the services to host unlawful content, send unsolicited bulk email, attack other people’s systems, infringe copyright or distribute malware.
On shared hosting, the space described as unlimited covers the directly reachable HTML, PHP and image/static code files belonging to your live website. Using the server as external backup storage (ZIP, TAR.GZ, ISO and similar archives), as a media streaming server or as a file download platform; storing large archives whose individual file size exceeds 50 MB; and exceeding the limit of 250,000 inodes (file count) per account all fall outside the Acceptable Use Policy (AUP).
When we see a usage pattern breaching the Acceptable Use Policy or affecting other customers’ performance, we write to you first and give you time to correct it. Only in urgent and serious cases (an ongoing attack, a report of unlawful content, or a risk of the server running out of disk space) do we stop first and notify afterwards.
7. Downtime, backups and liability
We make reasonable efforts to keep the service running, but no service delivered over the internet is free of downtime. Planned maintenance is announced in advance; unplanned outages are reported on the status page and by email.
We provide backups as a convenience; we recommend keeping your own copies of critical data as well. Virtual servers are unmanaged: the operating system, updates, security patches and application installs are yours.
Our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant service in the preceding 12 months. We are not liable for lost profit, lost data or indirect damages. This limit does not apply where we have acted with intent or gross negligence, or where consumer law does not permit it.
8. Termination
You can end a service at the close of its period by turning renewal off. You do not have to give a reason or call us.
We may terminate a service for a serious breach of the acceptable use rules. In that case the fee for the unused period is not refunded. If we terminate without any breach on your part, the unused period is refunded on a per-day basis.
After a service ends, your data is retained for a further window during which you can download it. At the end of that window the data is permanently deleted.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change works to your disadvantage, we email you at least 30 days before it takes effect; if you do not accept it, you can end the service at the close of the period.
The date at the top of the page shows which version is in force.
10. Governing law and disputes
If something goes wrong, contact us through support first; most matters are resolved in writing.
For consumer transactions, your right to apply to consumer arbitration committees and consumer courts is reserved. Nothing in this text limits the rights you have under law.
